Budding young chefs

A Peek At This Week
We've been busy bees this week learning about Hanukah, doing gingerbread activities, and preparing for our Holiday play! We've made lots of festive decorations, written letters to Santa, and made cards for patients who will be in the hospital over the holidays.

As a special treat on Friday, Jacob’s parents came to talk to our class about Hanukah. We got to try latkes (potato pancakes) and jelly doughnuts. We lit the first candle on the menorah with the Shammas (the helper candle). Then we learned how to play Dreidel with chocolate gelt (money). It was so much fun--we always like to learn new things. We even have dreidels to bring home to teach our families how to play. Thank you Ebel family!

Looking Ahead
Next week we will continue to prepare for our play, which will be on Friday at 9:00. Your child should come to school dressed in their costume and bring their uniform to change into later. BOYS—PLEASE BRING YOUR COSTUME TO SCHOOL ON MONDAY SO WE CAN GET IT READY TO BE A SOLDIER OUTFIT

Thanks to Maddie Cook and her family for providing a fun pop-up book and cookies to decorate on Wednesday for her Star Student weeks. Thank you to Anna Kate and her family for her delicious birthday cupcakes on Friday! Also, the children will not need a snack on Friday because the party will be their snack.

We will not be doing a Cooking Show on Friday due to all of our other activities. Before the new semester, each child needs to bring another set of Crayola Twistables crayons (24 count). We have used ours so much that they are running out of color.

That's it for now! Have a great weekend!!
