A Peek at This Week
We've had a terrific week learning all about Community Helpers! We made community helpers for our Word Wall. We wrote about our parents' occupations and read lots of books about different jobs. Our favorite part of the week was listening to some of our moms, dads, and even an aunt tell us about the kinds of jobs they do around our community.
Here we are listening to Jessie's heartbeat and meeting Newman the cat.
In Language we worked on the letters Cc and Aa. We talked about the sounds they make and we listened for words beginning and ending with these sounds. We isolated and identified the beginning and ending sounds in words.
In Math we completed Chapter 4, "Numbers 0-5" and reviewed all we've learned so far.
Looking Ahead
Our Unit next week will be Pets. We will focus on the letters Tt and Ee and their sounds. In Math we will begin Chapter 5, "Numbers 6-10" and work on number sense for the numbers 3-5. Because of topic next week, we have decided to join with Junior K in their service project “Pennies for Pets.” If you would like to help out, please send in any spare change and we will add it to the Penny jar in Junior K. Also, we are looking forward to the Pet Show on Friday at 9:00. It will be down on the playground—all pets are invited. If your child does not own a pet, he/she may bring in a favorite stuffed animal. Next Friday is a 60% day, so we will not do Cooking Show. We do have a Word Wall activity planned for Wednesday where we will use foam shave cream. If you would like to donate some, we would appreciate it! J
