A Peek at This Week
We've had a GREAT week learning all about Pets and how to care for them. We read lots of pet books and painted watercolor doghouses. Our most favorite thing about this week was the Pet Show. Thanks so much to everyone who came!
In Language we worked on the letters Tt and Ee and their sounds. We have been practicing different phonemic awareness skills, too. Right now we are practicing how to blend sounds into words and also how to segment words into sounds
In Math, we worked on Chapter 5, "Numbers 6-10". We are practicing our number sense skills as well. We are finding out that there are many different ways to make each number—for example, 3 red blocks is the same thing as 2 red blocks and 1 blue block (so 3 can be 2 and 1).
Looking Ahead
Our unit of study next week will be "Fire Safety". Our letters will be Yy and long and short Oo. In Math we will continue to work on number sense and finish Chapter 5 "Numbers 6-10.” Also, next week for Cooking Show we need vanilla frosting, red food coloring, Skittles, gumdrops, and pretzel sticks. If you can send any of the following it would be greatly appreciated! J
We will have a visit from the fire department on Friday. Pumpkin Patch Field Trip money is due on Wednesday, October 7th. Thank you to those of you that have already sent it.
