A Peek At This Week
We've had a great week learning all about Fire Safety and what a beautiful week it was! Thank you for helping with this at home too. We had a visit from the Oxford Fire Department today and just as they were finishing up with us they received a real call and had to race out to help with a wreck. It was very exciting for the children to see them in action!
Thanks to Emalyn's mom for sending the children cupcakes in celebration of Emalyn's star student weeks. Also, thanks to Anna's family for sending birthday cupcakes last week for Anna's birthday.
The children enjoyed making edible fire trucks this afternoon. Pictures will be posted on our blog soon. Thanks to everyone who sent in items for our Cooking Show.
In Language we worked on the letters Yy and Oo and the sounds they make. In Math we finished chapter 5, "Numbers 6-10".
Looking Ahead
Next week our unit will be Spiders (with a little bit of Skeletons and Columbus thrown in for good measure.) Our letters will be Zz and Kk. In Math we will begin Chapter 7, "Numbers 10-20". Our Cooking Show activity will be Cracker Spiders we will need Ritz crackers and M & M's.
Remember Field Trip Money is due by Wednesday, October 7. Monday, October 12 is Columbus Day and there will be no school.
Have a great weekend!
