When we arrived at school on Wednesday morning, we were greeted by 10 newly hatched baby chicks! By the end of the school day we had 16 little chick friends. One more hatched overnight, for a total of 17 baby chicks. We were so excited!
Here is one of the newly hatched chicks still in the incubator. Each chick has to stay in the incubator until its feathers are dry.
Once the chick is dry it will get moved to the "brooding box."
Once the chick learns to drink water (Miss Angela teaches them how), it gets to stay in the box with its friends.
