Last Wednesday, both Senior K classes met in Miss Angela's room to candle our chicken and duck eggs. We did this by sitting each egg on top of an LED flashlight in a dark room. We had to look for the air sac in the bottom of each egg. Unfortunately, we could not find an air sac in any of the 12 duck eggs . On a happier note, when we candled the 24 chicken eggs, all of them seemed viable. We looked at the eggs again yesterday (Monday, April 12th) and got to see the blood vessels inside the eggs. It looked very cool--kind of like a spider web. After doing that, we determined that 21 of the original 24 chicken eggs were still viable. We are getting very anxious for Wednesday (the proposed day of hatching)!
