A Peek At This Week
We had a short week thanks to Mother Nature. We painted snowmen, cut snowflakes, worked on the words, little, pretty, are, & ride, made three new books for our book bins, practiced our sight words with a snowball fight and Spelling Cheerleading, and began our chapter on Time in Math.
Looking Ahead
Next week we will continue working on telling time to the hour. Our words for next week are: help, ate, under, & out. Our unit next week will be Penguins and Polar Pals.
Homework
This week's homework included a new section of sentence writing. I also sent a mini word wall (yellow sheet) for your child to use as a reference. I would like for the children to use the word wall to spell correctly any word that is on the sheet. If the child is trying to write a word that isn't on the sheet, he should use invented spelling (sound out the word and write the letters you hear even if they are spelled incorrectly). Please break these up any way you'd like. Do one or two a night until they get easier--and they will get easier!!
Have a great weekend and stay warm!! Check out the blog for fun snowball fight pictures.
